1.0.9 Safe to install
IBM, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, has initiated a field test for the Get Results in Transition (GRIT) application, targeting up to 25,000 transitioning Service members, Veterans, and their families. Should the initial participation cap be reached, additional slots may become available, enabling others to join through a waitlist system.
GRIT aims to support Service members, Veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, as well as their families, during the challenging process of transition and post-military life. The app focuses on preparing users for future challenges while promoting social well-being and enhancing behavioral health through a comprehensive toolkit designed to empower individuals in managing daily obstacles. Key components of the 360-degree approach to wellness are detailed below:
- The Mind Gym: This feature encourages self-awareness and self-care in a stigma-free environment. Clinically validated tools assess users' mental states and coping skills. Through engaging mobile games and exercises, along with techniques such as breathing and meditation, users can enhance their clarity of thought, emotional regulation, stress management, and overall positive mindset.
- Your Coping Score: This tool offers timely intervention based on real-time data gathered from Mind Gym assessments and optional social media inputs. The Coping Score is continually monitored for fluctuations, enabling proactive measures via different app components like the Digital Assistant or community support options.
- A Squad: Users can establish a virtual support network by inviting friends and family members into their Squad. This fosters social interaction and mutual motivation, encouraging connections among group members to strengthen emotional support.
- An Employment Module: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and access to over 51,000 job sites, this feature curates personalized job opportunities—surpassing 198,000 new listings daily across various industries. Users can create tailored employment profiles encompassing their Occupational Specialty Code(s), resumés, job preferences, and targeted industries. The Digital Assistant also aids in crafting application materials and preparing for interviews.
This field test presents an opportunity for Service members, Veterans, and their families to explore how GRIT can facilitate their adjustment to civilian life by fostering emotional awareness, building social connections, and enhancing career prospects. Participants will also contribute invaluable feedback aimed at refining the app's functionalities and increasing its effectiveness prior to broader implementation within the Service and Veteran communities.
